MENTORING MEETING. After praying, WE REVIEW these notes together:

HOW TO PRAY WHEN YOU ARE IN DISTRESS

1. JESUS ENTERED GETHSEMANE WITH OTHERS Mark 14:32,33 (NLT)

"They went to the olive grove called Gethsemane... he took Peter, James, and John with him."

2. JESUS PUT WORDS TO HIS ANGUISH Matthew 26:38 (NLT)

"He told them, 'My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.'"

3. JESUS PRAYED AS A SON: ABBA, FATHER Mark 14:36 (NLT)

"'Abba, Father,' he cried out, 'everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.'"

4. JESUS STAYED ALERT — HIS SPIRIT OVERCAME HIS FLESH Matthew 26:40,41 (NLT)

"'Couldn't you watch with me even one hour? Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.'"

5. JESUS REPEATED THE SAME PRAYER — PERSISTENCE IS NOT LACK OF FAITH Matthew 26:44 (NLT)

"So he went to pray a third time, saying the same things again."

6. JESUS RECEIVED HELP FROM HEAVEN TO PRAY MORE DEEPLY Luke 22:43,44 (NLT)

"Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him. He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood."

7. JESUS WOKE HIS PEOPLE AND MOVED TOWARD HIS PURPOSE Matthew 26:46 (NLT)

"'Up, let's be going. Look, my betrayer is here!'"

Discuss with the group: What lesson do you take from Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane, and how would you apply it to a specific situation you’re going through?

Dismiss the meeting with a victory cry of “Gloria a Dios” [Glory to God] at the count of three.

Sunday

THE LORD’S SUPPER

Testimony: The Lord is working in my finances and paying off my debts. Hallelujah! (Eliana Amézquita Sandoval).

  • WE TRAIN: Gethsemane, how to pray under stress (7 of 7) - https://youtu.be/XPj4RfIdZrI?si=5SaT67YFAfPmjPoN

  • WE THANK GOD for giving us the strength to rise up and wake up those around us // We also pray for Colombia's full recovery following the strong earthquake that struck a few days ago.

  • THE LORD’S SUPPER: Take a moment to “examine yourselves”/repent. READ 1 Corinthians 10:16,17 (as we partake of the bread and cup): When we bless the cup at the Lord’s Table, aren’t we sharing in the blood of Christ? And when we break the bread, aren’t we sharing in the body of Christ? And though we are many, we all eat from one loaf of bread, showing that we are one body.

  • WE ACT:

Read Psalms 113-115; 1 Corinthians 6

Donate: We are greatly blessed when we give: “You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35). To give, go to: https://en.comunionet.com/donar

Dismiss the meeting with a victory cry of “Gloria a Dios” [Glory to God] at the count of three.
